LG LDF series, LSDF Series Dishwasher Troubleshooting

There are over 100 dishwashers in the LG LDF and LSDF series. Although they vary by capacity and features, typically they utilize almost similar parts and controls, so you may fix them using the same methods. You can check out these methods in the table below according to the symptom that your dishwasher is experiencing.

 

PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSES SOLUTIONS
Dishwasher does not operate — Door is not completely closed.
— Power supply or power cord is not connected.
— Fuse is blown or circuit breaker tripped.
— Make sure the door is completely closed and latched.
— Connect the power supply or cord properly.
— Replace fuse or reset circuit breaker.
Dishwasher operates too long Unit is linked to cold water. Check the water supply connection or water heater setting. (Heating cold water takes longer.)
Odor Previous cycle was stopped before completion. Operate the Quick Wash cycle with detergent without loading any dishes.
Water rest in tub after completion of cycle Drain hose is kinked or clogged. Adjust hose or clear blockage.
Spots and filming on dishes — Low water temperature.
— Wrong amount of detergent used.
— Overloading.
— Improper loading.
— Insufficient water pressure.
— Insufficient detergent.
— Rinse aid dispenser empty.
— Water supply should be at least 120°F for best wash performance.
— Use the recommended amount of detergent.
— Load the proper amount of dishes.
— change water pressure to between 20 and 120 psi.
— Add the recommended amount of detergent. 
— Refill rinse aid dispenser.
Noise — Some level of sound is normal during operation.
— The dishwasher is not level.
— Nozzle arm knocking against dishes.
— Detergent cover opening. Drain pump at the beginning of drain cycle.
— Adjust the leveling feet.
— Reposition the dishes.
Cloudiness on glassware Combination of excessive detergent and soft water. Use less detergent and use a rinse aid to minimize the problem.
Black or gray signs on dishes Aluminum items rubbing dishes during cycle. Reposition the dishes.
Yellow or brown film inside surfaces of dishwasher Coffee or tea stains. Eliminate the stain by using a stain removal product.
Dishes don’t dry Clean agent dispenser empty. Check and refill the clean agent dispenser if empty.
Lamps don’t illuminate — Power is not connected.
— Fuse is blown or circuit breaker tripped.
— Connect power supply.
— Replace fuse or reset circuit breaker.
Sprays arms do not rotate smoothly Holes of spray arms are blocked by food particles. Clean the holes of spray arms.
Upper rack crooked Rack is poorly adjusted.
